Here at Porthminster Beach Café we’ve been watching spring arrive on the Cornish coast with a sense of relief and anticipation; we can’t wait to welcome you back again!
We’ve been busy overseeing lots of positive changes at all of the Porthminster Group sites, as well as preparing our restaurants and teams, ready for the return of customers to a safe, stress-free environment.
As our terraces reopen, we ask you to note that the maximum number of guests per booking will be six people (including children). We will not be taking larger groups across multiple bookings or allowing guests to join tables together when they arrive.
This is to protect and reassure our community, staff and customers, and to avoid unnecessary anxiety. We know this will be disappointing to some but we strongly feel it is the right thing to do; please respect our staff in implementing this policy.
Catch up with developments at all three restaurants below; see you soon!
Porthminster Beach Café
Our versatile covered terrace reopens on 12th April for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bookings are coming in thick and fast so get organised if you plan to visit us soon!
We’re increasing the scope of our offering beyond the restaurant for the summer, with a new smoker adding to our beachside barbeque facilities. Expect fresh seafood cooked to perfection over live fire, colourful sides and seaside classics at our revamped outdoor bar area.
We’ll also be serving some of our most popular restaurant dishes from the takeaway below the café. If you feel more comfortable finding a spot on the beach away from the crowds then you can still enjoy a taste of Porthminster to go!
And, if you can’t get to St Ives right now, you’ll be happy to hear that we’re trialling a national delivery service to enable you to enjoy our signature dishes in the comfort of your home. For more info click here.
Porthgwidden Beach Café
The terrace at Porthgwidden will reopen on 12th April, with opening times and menus following the usual format. We hope you can sit back and enjoy the view, and let us look after you after what feels like the longest time.
You’ll also be excited to hear that Porthgwidden now has it’s very own Beach Bar! We’ve extended the decking area to create a larger terrace overlooking the beach; a little oasis for beachgoers this season…
Porthminster Kitchen
With only a handful of outdoor tables at Porthminster Kitchen we have no plans to open immediately on 12th April but we are looking at the possibility of putting those tables to good use – look out for updates via social media.
Bookings for indoor tables are now open from 17th May onwards and as with our other restaurants, things are already looking busy for the summer ahead.
At all of our venues social distancing and mask wearing (excepting guests when sat at tables) will be in operation, and we’ll be doing everything we can to make everyone feel safe and comfortable on their return to us.
We can’t wait to see you for a bit of St Ives-style R&R!
