VSOP Cognac, Maxime Trijol – St Martial–sur-Né, Grande Champagne

A blend of casks between 10 and 40 years old with an average age of 15 years this is a rounded, well structured Cognac, with a fine and intense nose. Despite showing lots of maturity this Cognac has kept all the elegance and finesse typical of Cognacs from the Grande Champagne area. Probably the best VSOP

Jamaican Small Plantation Rum – 1998

The Plantation rum collection is a rare, unique Caribbean treasure that has escaped industrial standardisation. Each rum is made according to its traditional technique and expresses the full potential of its area of origin. The rums are produced in small distilleries and then aged in Bourbon barrels in the hot island sun. On the nose it is very pungent, typically Jamaican – and has a broad palette of tropical aromas,

including roasted bananas and coconut. A real gourmet rum!

Fabuloso Solera Spanish Brandy, Bodegas Hidalgo,

 Sanlucar de Barrameda, Spain

Brandy Fabuloso is made by the distillation of wine and then by its maturation in old butts of American oak, previously used for making sherries. Like sherries, it is matured using the traditional 'solera' system, of blending the younger brandy with the older through a series of butts. As it ages it gains a rich character, aroma and taste that is typical of the brandy's Denomination 'Brandy de Jerez'.

Full, rich and super smooth with nuances of vanilla and walnuts. Delightful!

In less than 10 years Cooley have now won more than 30 medals in spirit tastings and last year scooped another three gold’s at the prestigious International Wine and Spirit competition.

Nikka from the Barrel - Japanese Whisky

Masataka Taketsuru has been making Japenese whisky since 1920 after an inspirational visit to Scotland. His family owned a sake brewery that dated back to 1733. If today is your first taste of Japanese whisky we hope you will enjoy the delightful floral nose with a touch of orange peel and apricots. Big and well balanced at first, then spicy oak and rich fruit and a tickle of fire at the finish. Add water for a real treat.

Hedonism Scotch Whisky, Compass Box Whisky Company

Hedonism is unusual in the Scotch whisky world: a 100% Scotch grain whisky. It is very rare to see 100% grain whisky bottling, even in Scotland.  Going back 100 years, grain whisky brands were more common, but they were overtaken in popularity by the big brands of blended Scotch, which comprised both grain whisky and malt whisky. Today, most Scotch grain whisky gets blended into the big brand names, typically at young ages. For Hedonism, Compass Box searched for very old casks of Scotch grain whisky, typically over 20 years in age and only bottle once or twice a year,

when they find casks with the right flavour profile.

A rich, sweet, alluring whisky, redolent of vanilla, and pastry cream. Stunning!
